? BERNICE BROADSTREET, 97, died July 31 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. The service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, also at the funeral home. A complete obituary will appear in the Aug. 12 edition.

? LEONA MAE FRIESEN, 86, died July 28 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

The service was Aug. 1 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro.

She was born April 6, 1929, to Sam and Hilda (Ediger) Thiessen at Chicago, Ill. Her husband, Elmer Friesen, predeceased her in 2011.

Survivors include sons Dennis and wife CleoBeth of rural Hillsboro, Steve of Lehigh, Merle and wife Cora of Hillsboro and Randy and wife LaVon of Wichita; daughter Kimberly Friesen of Hillsboro; brothers Richard Thiessen of Fresno, Calif., and Leon Thiessen of Santa Maria, Calif.; sisters Norma Johnson of Arvada, Colo., Betty Graf of Castle Rock, Colo., and Clara King of Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hillsboro Senior Center or Salem Home and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266, Hillsboro, KS 67063.

? HENRIETTA MARY WANER, 81, a cook at the Marion Senior Center and later at the Owl Car Cafe, died July 27 at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

The service was July 31 at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark?s Church in Marion.

Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 7, 1933, to Joseph and Mary (Oborny) Stika in rural Marion. On Nov. 14, 1951, she was married to Vernon Waner, who survives.

Other survivors include children David and Tena Waner of Marion, Carol and Craig Leppke of Hillsboro, Darrell and Holly Waner of Derby, Mike and Tina Waner of McPherson and Steve and Traci Waner of Marion; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother Louis and wife Sarah; sister Victoria Smolik; sister-in-laws Delores Stika and Wanda Waner and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Marion Library, Father Kapaun Legacy Fund or St. Luke Auxiliary and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS 66861.
