Thomas E. Stoppel, 64, died on May 12, 2023, surrounded by his family, at his home in Tonganoxie, KS. He previously lived in Hillsboro for the past 20 years.
A Celebration of Life service was held on May 17 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church.
Tom’s greatest joy was spending time with his family which includes his wife, Glenda; daughter, Marci (Drew) Hunter, son, Justin Wodke and Hannah Baumert (Kevin Seel). He adored and had a special
bond with his two grandchildren, Chase Hunter and Mackenzie Hunter. There was also a special place in his heart for Baby Boy Hunter who will make his arrival later this summer. He was very proud of his
grandpa name of “TP” as he was known by his family. His children and grandchildren knew he loved them and that was proven many times in the last year of his life by the love and compassion they showed to him.
He is also survived by two brothers – Mark (Starla) Stoppel and Larry (Nancy) Stoppel. Tom also leaves behind extended family members and many, many friends.
Memorials in Tom’s name may be given to Tonganoxie Christian Church, and Be Head Strong (an organization that helps families in the KS City metro who are dealing with brain cancer) in care of
Quisenberry Funeral Home, 604 E. 4th St., Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
