The four living children of G.M. and Helena Warkentin were honored at a reunion of descendants Tuesday evening, June 26, at Parkview Church in Hillsboro. The children are (from left) Ruth Wenger, 90, Mary Thiessen, 98, Lydia McDonald, 92, and Helen, who was observing her 93rd birthday. With them are Helen?s husband Ike Thiessen, 95, and Elma Warkentin, 87, a sister-in-law. The evening included a meal as well as visiting and reminiscing. Also participating were: J.D. and Nancy Unruh, Glen and Lois Janzen, Eunice and Darrell Doerksen, Lyle and Betty Jones from Wichita; Janet Hein, Ron Warkentin, Joyce Kessler, Arlene Schale, Lyndon Thiessen and family from Hillsboro. Attending from other communities were: Karen York, Kansas City; Robert and Coleen Warkentin, Salina; Janice Winter, McPherson; Enid Cady, Marion; Carol Siebert, Newton; Mary Gasney, St. Louis, Mo.; Jeanenne Koslowsky, Mesa, Ariz; and Carol Wenger, Manhattan.
