Chat and Dine plans May 5 potluck

Marion County Lake residents past and present will have their monthly Chat and Dine potluck meeting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the South Lake Hall.

Hillsboro bands, choirs plan concerts

The Hillsboro middle and high school bands, directed by Gregg Walker, and choirs, directed by Lynn Just, will be presenting their final concerts on Thursday, May 10, at the Fine Arts Festival.

Middle-school bands will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the HHS Auditorium. All choirs will perform beginning with sixth grade at 7 p.m. in the HHS gym.

The HHS band and jazz band will round out the evening at 8 p.m. in the auditorium.

Student artwork will be displayed in the the commons, as well as awards received by the bands and choirs.

The public is invited to attend.

GES students to give spring concert

Students in kindergarten through third grade at Goessel Elementary School will present their spring program ?On the Right Track? at 9:30 a.m. at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, in the GES gymnasium.

Each grade will present class songs. Third-grade students will be featured as narrators, soloists and instrumentalists.

Marcia Brubaker will direct the program.

Lincolnville council to meet May 8

The Lincolnville regular city meeting has been changed this month from 7 p.m. May 7 to 7 p.m. May 8.
PEO Chapter DB sets May 6 meeting

The PEO Chapter DB will meet at 1:30 p.m. May 6 in the home of Laura Williams.

Quilt Guild to meet May 7 at UMC

The Country Stitchers Quilt Guild will meet at 7:30 p.m. May 7 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

The program will be ?Quilts of Valor? work night following a short business meeting.

Please bring sewing materials needed to complete your project.

Chamber making service project list

The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce is compiling a list of community service projects in Hillsboro as a way to bring together groups in Hillsboro looking to do community service.

Tabor College has a program that required students to do community service, as Golden Heritage Foods WE CARE program allows employees two paid work days per year to do community service.

HHS music groups selling concert CDs

Compact discs are available of the Hillsboro High School Men?s Ensemble and Spirit-N-Celebration Night.

CDs are $10 apiece and can be purchased by calling director Lynn Just at the high school.
