Lions Club to hold pancake feed Jan. 26

 

The Hillsboro Evening Lions Club will sponsor a pancake feed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Hillsboro Senior Center.

Cost is $5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes, a sausage link, orange drink and coffee. Proceeds will go toward youth activities and eye-glasses.

 

Ebenfeld preparing soup-and-pie lunch

 

Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren women?s ministries will sponsor a soup and pie lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the church fellowship hall.

Donations for the chili, chicken noodle soup, bread and pie lunch will go toward remodeling the teacher?s work room at the church.

 

KS Day celebration set at Eastmoor

 

The eighth-annual Kansas Day Celebration will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion.

?Wizard of Oz? author, L. Frank Baum will be portrayed by Frederick Krebs, a professor at Johnson County Community College.

A meal will be served at a cost of $10 per person.

MOPs to meet Jan. 29 at Parkview

 

Mothers of Preschoolers will meet from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. Guest speaker Tim Hodge will speak on writing a will and guardianship.

Young mothers of the community are invited for visiting and food. Childcare is provided. For mothers who have never attended, the first meeting is free.

Dancing Jays to hold dance clinic Feb. 9

 

The Dancing Jays of Tabor College will host a dance clinic from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 in the Campus Recreation Center at Tabor College.

Girls in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to participate. Each participant will receive a free t-shirt.

Participants will learn a routine in the afternoon session and perform it with the Dancing Jays at the halftime of the Tabor men?s basketball game that night.

Registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 28.

The cost is $20 if registered by Jan. 28. The fee is $15 each for two or more participants from the same family.

A late fee of $5 will be assessed if registered after the deadline.

Special Ed board to meet Jan. 25

 

The Marion County Special Education Cooperative board of directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at USD 398 Peabody/Burns Central Office, 506 Elm.
