MCDA assisting with prescription plans

Marion County Depart­ment on Aging will assist individuals during the open enrollment season for prescription drug plans.

Gayla Ratzlaff, department coordinator, can assist in comparing plans as well as enrolling in a new plan.

“It is important to do a comparison every year since plans change premiums, their formulary and deduct­ible,” she said.

Ratzlaff will be at Hills­boro Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov 30. Call Brenda Moss at 620-947-2304 to make an appointment.

Tabor, HAMA offers

Thanksgiving music

The Tabor College choral ensembles and Hillsboro Area Ministerial Associa­tion will join forces for its annual fall concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Hills­boro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Point.

“With Praise & Thanks­giving” as the theme, the concert features the Tabor College Concert Choir, select group Chamber Voices and women’s choir Concerto Bella Voce. Congregational singing is also a part of the event.

An offering will be gathered for support of HAMA. Food donations are also welcome for Main Street Ministries Food Bank.

HAMA exists to coordinate ministries within Hillsboro-area churches, including providing assistance to people in need with funds that are given to HAMA.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Metal bottle caps sought by Parkside

Parkside Homes is asking the community to look for metal bottle caps for a Christ­mas craft project during “Down Home Christ­mas.”

The bottle caps may be any kind, but they are needed on or before Nov. 20.

Anyone who would like to contribute caps for this craft project is asked to drop them off at Parkside Homes, 200 Willow St., Hillsboro.

Library promotes reading event

The Marion City Library encourages everyone to stop by the library at 101 Library St., and register for the free book, “The Napping House,” by Audra Wood.

The book promotes reading to children under age 5 through the annual event “Kansas Reads to Pre­school­ers.”

Goessel museum open house Nov. 18

The Mennonite Heritage and Agricultural Museum invites the public to an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov, 18.

Guests can enjoy hot chocolate and a professional bow-making lesson. The museum is located at 200 N. Poplar, Goessel.

Alexanderwohl has Thanksgiving event

Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goes­sel, is having a Thanksgiving service starting at 9:45 a.m. with an organ prelude, and the service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 23.
