Stitchers to meet Dec. 2 at HUMC

The Country Stitchers Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 905 East D St.

The program is the group?s Christmas party and sharing a favorite quilting tool.

Guests are welcome.


Blood drive slated Dec. 9 at Parkview

The American Red Cross will be at Parkview Menno?nite Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9 for a community blood drive.

Eligibility requirements for donating blood include a person being 17 years of age, or 16 with parental permission. They also must meet weight and height requirements with a minimum weight of 110 pounds or more depending on height, and they be in generally good health.

Anyone planning to donate blood is also asked to bring either a Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive identification.

Hillsboro auxiliary to have bake sale

The Hillsboro Com?munity Hospital Auxiliary volunteers are having a bake sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the HCH lobby, 701 S. Main St. In addition to baked items, there will be new or used books on sale.

The auxiliary members invite everyone to check out the ongoing book sale with the display in the HCH north lobby.

Connie Weber will also have her shelf display in the hallway and will take orders for Christmas or other gifting needs.

Santa plans visit to Marion library

Santa will be visiting Marion City Library, 101 Library, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7.

In addition, Santa will be accepting letters from Nov. 29 through Dec. 14, and he will write everyone back.

The first visit will be a come and go event and include cookies, cocoa and Christmas stories from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.

Santa?s second visit, also a come and go event, will include making Christmas crafts from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

The Christmas Home Tour is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the library or at any home on the tour.

Men?s ensemble to perform Dec. 1

Hearts4Him, a men?s ensemble, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Parkview Church, 610 S. Main, Hillsboro.

The ensemble is from the central Kansas area.

The concert is free, but free will offerings will be accepted.
