Library to accept letters to Santa

Children are encouraged to bring their Santa letters to the Marion City Library, 208 E Santa Fe St., beginning Monday, Nov. 29 through Dec. 11.

Santa will write back to each child. Those planning to send letters are asked to make sure to put the correct first and last names and that the address is legible.

Interchurch hymn sing Sunday

?

The monthly interchurch hymn sing is at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, in the Hearth Room of the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

In addition to singing, scripture, reading and prayer, those attending will have an opportunity to select favorite hymns. The theme, ?When to Say Thanks,? will be led by Steve Vincent.

Trumpeter will be Lewis Hagen and vocal music will be provided by Hillsboro High School student Olivia Kliewer.

Goessel students to perform Nov. 23

?

Goessel Junior High School students in band and choir will present their fall concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, in the auditorium.

The band is directed by Rob Tierney and the choir is directed by Renae Schmidt Peters.

Marion home tour scheduled Nov. 28

?

Marion Christmas Home Tours, ?A Candy Cane Christ?mas,? will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 28 with all proceeds going to support the Marion City Libary.

Tickets for the event are $5 and all proceeds will support the Marion City Library. Homes featured on the tour include Jerome and Donna Hajek, Mark and Lisa Johnson, Andy and Staci Hansen, Mike and Kathy Ehrlich, Mark Jeffrey?s Christmas Village Scene and Marion City Library will be serving refreshments.

Tickets may be purchased the day of the tour at any of the home or the library. For more information, stop by the library at 208 E. Santa Fe St., Marion, or call 620-382-2286.

St. Luke collecting winter apparel

?

St. Luke Hospital is running a ?Warm Hearts, Warm Hands,? campaign through Nov. 30.

Boxes will be set up at St. Luke Physician Clinic, St. Luke Living Center and the hospital lobby to collect new or gently used gloves, mittens and hats for winter.

Collected items will go to Marion schools, the elderly and Community Christmas.

Parade entries sought in Tampa

?

Parade entries are sought for this year?s Tampa Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. Dec 5.
