Volunteer program available in Goessel
The Bethesda Home Junior Volunteer Program Bethesda will again be offering a Junior Volunteer Program this summer. This program is for youth ages 10-14 years of age. Volunteers learn the value of giving of themselves, expecting nothing in return. The interesting thing is what you DO get in return!
* Friendship with elders
*Skills in communicating with others
*Experience-based knowledge of how to care for others
*Relationships with professional staff
*Exposure to a wide variety of people
*Beginning knowledge of what it’s like in the work place

HMHS Fine Arts Festival will be May 10
The Hillsboro Middle High School Fine Arts Festival will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10.
The Festival will open with an art show by students in grades 6-12 in the commons from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The 6-12 Band Concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium, and will include performances by the 6th Grade Band, 7th-8 th Grade Band, and High School Concert Band.
The Concert Band will perform a medley of service songs, and veterans and their families will be invited to stand while their branch’s song is played.
The 6-12 Choir Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.in the Robert C. Brown Gymnasium, and will include performances by 6th Grade Choir, Middle School Choir, Spirit–N-Celebration, and the High School Concert Choir.
2S2S to hold a listening session on May 11
2nd Saturday 2 Serve will be having a HERE 2 HEAR listening event downtown from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11.
Everyone is invited to come to the Emprise Bank Courtyard area to connect and listen to one another. You can come to talk about whatever is on your heart.
Come see us and enjoy free muffin. This event will be cancelled if it is raining.
Garden Club will be on May 23 in Goessel
The Town & Country Garden Club will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. on May 23 at the Goessel Community Room to car pool to a members garden tour.

Piano Recital held in Hillsboro Apr. 28
A program of piano music was presented at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church on Sunday, April 28. Students performing on the program were Gabbie Arnold, Camden, Darrin and Maleiah Bartel, Joshua and Sarah Diener, and Katie Rempel.
Assisting in the duets were Jennifer and Maleiah Bartel, Cambry Penner and piano teacher, Beverly Richards.
TEEN meeting will be on May 15
The Technology Excellence in Education Network (TEEN) will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
The meeting will be held at the USD 408 District Office at 101 North Thorp, Marion, Kansas 66861.

Relay for Life meeting will be May 14
Relay For Life of Marion County will be meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce at 110 N Main, Hillsboro.
Event flyers and luminary supplies will be available. Event Leadership will be available to answer questions.
The meeting will focus on event agenda.
CHS to sell plants for fundraiser in May
The Centre High School Horticulture department will be selling plants from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 and Thursday, May 16.
