Frostbite 4 Mile Fun Run on Jan. 1

It’s time for Hillsboro Recreation’s 13th Annual Frostbite 4 Mile Fun Run. This event will be at 2 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

The entry fee is $15. Pre-register by Dec21 and receive a commemorative gift. This walk or run starts and ends at Memorial Park.

New Bible Study beginning Jan. 3

Plan to join the Community Bible Study beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 3. It will be in the Heart Room at 300 Willow Rd. in Hillsboro.

The study is called Street Smarts. The lessons are to help you navigate through conflict to community by using the road map of Proverbs with the wisdom of Jesus.

Holiday concert on Dec. 30 at FMC

The family band Five Times Harder will perform a holiday concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, at First Mennonite Church, located at 102 S. Ash St. in Hillsboro.

The family will perform a variety of Christmas music in styles ranging from classical to bluegrass to folk. There will be no admission charge.

Tom and Lois Harder recently moved to Hillsboro. He serves as pastor at First Mennonite and she is interim associate pastor at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church of rural Goessel.

Annual Christmas program on Dec. 30

Spring Valley Mennonite Church will have their annual Christmas program at 7 p.m. on Dec. 30. The play “Golden Gifts” will be presented along with the nativity story, Christmas carls and the candle lighting.
