HHS presents Hello, Dolly! Nov. 8-10

Hillsboro High School presents Hello, Dolly! on Nov. 8, 9 and 10 in the HHS Auditorium.

GHS presents Beauty & the Beast Nov. 9-10

Goessel High School presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 10 in the GHS Auditorium.

Tickets are $5 for all ages and will be available in advance at the high school office or at the door each night of the show.

MHS presents All Shook Up Nov 16-18

Marion High School presents All Shook Up at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 17 and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the MHS Auditorium.

2nd Saturday 2 Serve Nov. 10 at HMBC

We’re making Freezer Meals again from 8-11 a.m. on Nov. 10 at Hillsboro MB Church. It was so fun the last time, and it’s time to be indoors. Cost per person is $20. We will be making yummy crockpot meals for a few local families.

If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to donate. You can also pay an additional $20 for 4 Freezer Meals to take home. I must get an RSVP, by November 7, so I can buy groceries accordingly. Please message, call or text Krista at 620-877-0638.

HHS Community Service Leaf Raking

Hillsboro High School will be doing a community service leaf raking on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The Student Council put together the service project for the student body to participate in. They will be raking leaves for residents of Hillsboro, especially those who are unable to complete the task on their own.

Hillsboro Rec sign-ups for JAM basketball

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission is now accepting sign-ups for JAM Basketball.

Over the years, the JAM Basketball program has been an excellent way to introduce basketball to area youth.

HHS Boys’ Basketball Coach Darrell Knoll and HHS Girls’ Basketball Coach Nathan Hiebert, along with coaches who will consist of parents, local coaches, and high school players, will stress fundamentals and game situations during Saturday morning practices. Hillsboro Rec hosting Open Gym

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission will be sponsoring Open Gym on Wednesdays, starting Nov. 14, from 7- 9 p.m., and on Sundays, starting Nov. 18, from 2-5 p.m.

Open Gym is for both youth and adult basketball players who would like to play in pick-up games or just practice shooting.

Please bring a separate set of clean basketball shoes to wear on the gym floor and you must provide your own basketball.

Available Angel Tree Applications

Hillsboro Angel Tree applications are now available. They can be pickked up at the Hillsboro State Bank, USD 410 schools and at Hillsboro churches.

The forms are due to Hillsboro State Bank by Nov. 30. They are to be filled out by the person applying and can’t be submitted on another person’s behalf.

Durable power of attorney workshop

The Marion County K-State Extension and Marion Co Dept on Aging is sponsoring a presentation by Paul Shipp, Attorney with Kansas Legal Services on “What is a Durable Power of Attorney?”

There will be a general discussion about Durable Power’s of Attorney Generally along with what it is, why useful, who needs it, who can be one, how to choose one and revocation.

This presentation will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Marion Senior Center.

There is no cost to attend but we ask you to register by calling K-State Extension office at 620-382-2325 by Wednesday, Nov 14.

TEEN meeting held on Nov. 13

The Technology Excellence in Education Network (TEEN) will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov 13. The meeting will be held at the USD 410 District Office at 416 S. Date, Hillsboro, KS 67063.

Moundridge Senior Singers concert 

The Moundridge Senior Singers will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Spring Valley Mennonite Church, Canton.

There will be singing hymns & a few Thanksgiving songs. Snacks and fellowship will follow.

Santa Claus coming to Florence Dec 1

Santa will be coming to Florence for his annual Christmas visit at 6 p.m. on December 1 at the Dale Miller meeting room. Kids come visit with Santa and enjoy the refreshments!

Annual Thanks-giving meal Nov. 18

Florence United Methodist Church will be hosting their annual Community Thanksgiving meal at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, Nov 18 at the Florence Masonic Center.

Everyone is invited to come and bring a potluck dish for the meal. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and drinks will be furnished.

Come visit with your friends and neighbors and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together!
