The planned electrical power outage for system repairs and updates which was originally scheduled for the nights of Jan. 29-30 in Marion has been cancelled, according to Roger Holter, city administrator.

The outage was called off because of the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for the area and will be rescheduled sometime in March depending on the electrical firm’s availability.

2S2S Coat Drive for January

The Second Saturday to Serve group is having a Coats, Covers and other Warm Things event.

As you’re cleaning out your closets, please consider giving your gently worn coats and jackets (any size) that you no longer wear.

If you have like-new blankets or covers, we’d love to have those also. If you don’t have those items, but would still like to help, we would love new socks or cold weather boots for kids.

Boxes for donations are at the Hillsboro Library, USD 410 District Office and Hillsboro MB Church. We will be collecting through the end of January.

There will also be boxes at the high school basketball games this week so drop them off when you come support the Trojans.

Help us help others prepare for the Kansas Cold weather! Thank you for serving your community!!
