The Marion Co Dept on Aging has two opportunities for services to our county. We need volunteer drivers and volunteers to help us distribute commodities. Drivers use Dept on Aging van to transport individuals 60+ to appointments in county and out of the county. The commodity volunteers help us load cases of food, boxes of fruit and boxes of frozen meat into vehicles every other month on the third Wednesday of the month at 8 a.m. at the Marion Senior center parking lot. The next commodity distribution is Wednesday, Dec. 18. You can contact the department at 620-382-3580 if you are interested in finding out more about these volunteer opportunities.
