Twilight swim

The Hillsboro Municipal Swimming Pool is having a twilight swim from 9 p.m. to midnight, July 15. The donation is three non-perishable food items or $4 with all proceeds going to Main Street Ministries.

All the lifeguards and everyone working at the facility are donating their time for the event.

Enrollment dates set for USD 411

Goessel-USD 411 will offer enrollment opportunities from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 3, and 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 4. A “mail-in” enrollment is planned for mid-July.

The first day of school begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 18, 8:00 a.m. School supply lists are available at Keith’s Foods in Goessel or a nearby discount store.

Threshing Days

5K run planned

The Threshing Days 5K run will begin at 7 a.m. Aug. 6 with check-in at 6:30 a.m. at the southeast corner of Goessel High School.

The cost is $25 with proceeds benefitting the Goessel High School cross country team.

Included in the cost is a T-shirt, awards for division winners, refreshments and Threshing Days button.

Solid waste group to meet July 20

The Central Kansas Regional Solid Waste Authority’s regular quarterly meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the McPherson County Transfer Station, 1431 17th Ave., McPherson.

TEEN meeting in Marion July 20

The Technology Excel­lence in Education Network will have its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the USD 408 district office at 101 N. Thorp St., Marion.
