Christmas service at Alexanderwohl

The community is invited to attend a Christmas Day service starting at 10 a.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.

An organ prelude begins at 9:45 a.m. by Jason Peters, organist. Pastor Linda Ewert will give the meditation and interim pastor Peter Emery will sing, ?O Holy Night? in German. Everyone is welcome. The church is one mile north of Goessel on Kansas Highway15.

 

Durham Christmas celebration Dec. 19

The annual Christmas celebration in Durham begins at 5 p.m. Dec. 19 at the community center.

Hot dogs and refreshments will be provided, plus Christmas sacks will be handed out for the children.

Tram rides will be available for everyone.

 

Night in the Barn set for Dec. 19, 20

Tabor Mennonite Youth Fellowship will present their annual living nativity, Night in the Barn from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 19 and 20 in the barn of Maynard Knepp and Carol Duerksen between Goessel and Hillsboro.

A llama that gives kisses, a mother cow and calf, bell-wearing sheep and people-loving donkeys are among the critters on site.

The come-and-go event will feature a program in the barn, Christmas carols around a bonfire, hot drinks and snacks.

Admission is free; donations to the youth group will

be accepted.

From Goessel, drive 3 miles north on Kansas Highway 15, 4 miles east on 150th, 3/4 mile north on Falcon.

From Hillsboro, drive 4 miles south on Indigo, 3 west on 150th, 3/4 mile north on Falcon.
