HHS fall sports pep rally Aug. 23

Hillsboro Trojan Booster Club host the fall kickoff community pep rally at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Joel Wiens Stadium.

The community is invited to attend.

Cheer­leaders and fall sports teams and coaches will be introduced during the pep rally. Adults can sign up to be on the Trojan Booster Club.

Booster Club members will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a fall sports pass and a stadium seat.

Community Bible

study set Sept. 8

A community Bible study will begin in the Hearth Room at Hillsboro Mennonite Breth­ren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, starting at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 8.

“Simon Peter and the Master” will be the book to help participants see Jesus anew as they read and discuss the Gospels.

Prominent themes are the power of prayer, truth, mercy and love.

Big Truck Night set for Sept. 8

The 12th annual Big Truck Night is planned for 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Hillsboro Elementary School, 812 E. A St.

Sponsored by the Marion County Early Childhood Task Force, the event provides opportunities for children and young families to explore a variety of large trucks as well as engage in fun activities geared for children birth through 5 years old.

The free event also will provide parenting resources provided by local organizations, plus free refreshments and gifts for the children.

Baked goods

wanted for fairzAnyone who wants to raise money for a worthy cause might consider the Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair on Sept. 17. The Kaffee Haus in the city building will again be offering baked goods for sale to fairgoers.

Spaces are available to people or groups at no cost and 100 percent of the proceeds are retained by you.
