County lake group to meet
The Marion County Park and Lake Chat and Dine Club will hold its next potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the east shelter house.
This is the group?s annual cookout and everyone attending is asked to bring a side dish to go with burgers and hot dogs.
The event is a time of fellowship, and members are asked to bring a friend or two.

Sock?Rockerz to perform July 11
Marion City Library and Tampa State Bank are hosting ?Sock Rockerz? at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at the Marion Community Building.
The event is for children of all ages and those young at heart.
According to organizers, ?it?s the kids on the block who rock in silly socks,? and participants are asked to bring silly socks and join in.
Little children are encouraged to wear silly socks to the concert.
The Sock Rockerz are a collective group of four musical theater professional dancers and entertainers.
While entertaining children, they also promote literacy through the art of music.

SCMC seeks to honor teachers
The Senior Citizens of Marion County Board of Directors desires to honor retired educators at its annual meeting in October.
The board is seeking nominations of retired teachers/professors who live in Marion County; are at least 60 years of age; were employed in the county, state or out of state; taught at public/private schools or colleges/universities.
Nominations are accepted from the public through Aug. 9. Forms are available at local senior centers or online on the Depart?ment on Aging website at www.marioncoks.net.
The deadline for nominations is Aug. 9.
