Backyard garden tour set in Canton

A summer morning backyard garden tour from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 19 will view five different themes in Canton.

Maps and tickets are available at Three Sisters Tea and Treasures in downtown Canton.

The cost of the tour is $3 or a luncheon at Three Sisters to include the tour for $7 is optional.

Organizers said Canton is the beginning of the Prairie Trail Scenic Byway located at the junction of U.S. Highway 56 and 27th Avenue in McPherson County. The trail follows through the Smoky Hills and ends in Ellsworth County.

Quilt Guild plans salad supper July 7

The Country Stitchers Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. July 7 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 905 East D St.

The group will have a summer salad supper. Everyone planning to come is asked to bring a salad and projects they are taking to the Marion County fair.

Drinks and table service are provided.

 

Twilight swim July 18 in Hillsboro

The third annual Twilight Swim is from 9 p.m. to midnight July 19 at the Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center.

The cost is $3 or three non-perishable food items. No season passes will be accepted.

Proceeds will go to Main Street Ministries. Concessions will be available to purchase.

All pool staff are donating their time for the event.

 

?Run for Your Momma? set Aug. 9

Marion MOPS is reminding everyone about the ?Run for Your Momma? half marathon race on Saturday, Aug. 9.

Registration begins at 5:30 a.m. and the half marathon starts at 6:30 a.m.

The 5K race starts at 8 a.m.

Movies planned at Marion City Library

Each Wednesday in July, the Marion City Library will show a movie starting at 2:30 p.m.

Dates for the movies are July 2, 9, 16 and 23.

Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Drinks and popcorn will be provided.
