14 area students benefit from Lions free chess clinic


ChessClinic2.jpg Hillsboro Lions Club sponsored a free chess clinic for area students last Thursday in the Hillsboro High School Wiebe Media Center. Fourteen students participated with Terry Weldin (adult wearing white shirt in photo), Kansas Lions 17N district governor, as chess clinician. Students were instructed in the basics of the game and enjoyed prizes and refreshments. Students participating in the clinic were Marshall Hoffner, Ben Koop, Jeff Pritchard, Zach Ghahremanzadeh, Brodie Rathbone, Dakota Klein, Madison Bram, Nathan Simhiser, Leighton Wagner, Jordan Fryhover, Jacob Denholm, Reece Berens, Matthew Denholm and Braden Vogt.
