CGHS to host blood drive Sept. 25

The Future Business Leaders of America student organization at Canton-Galva High School will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 1:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Community Center, 100 W. McPherson, Canton.

Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or online at redcrossblood.org. A blood-donor card or driver?s license, or two other forms of identification, are required at check-in.

Individuals who are 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate.

HHS will begin selling choir cards

The Hillsboro High School Concert Choir will begin selling choir cards this week.

Choir cards feature discounts from area businesses and can be purchased for $10 from any choir member.

A list of choir students can be found on the school website on the choir page under the activities tab.

Cards are good October through March.

Participating businesses include Shear Ambitions, The Lumberyard, Ampride, Odds N Ends, Alco, Dale?s Supermarket, El Lorito, Heartland Foods, Kessler Kreations, Little Pleasures, Nancy?s Fashions, Norel Farms Bakery, Rod?s Tire, Serenity Gardens, Tangles, and The Cut Above.

 

Valley UMC plans 145-year event

Valley United Methodist Church is celebrating 145 years with a community open house from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28.

Organizers are encouraging everyone to join in the celebration, ?Coming Home to Valley.?

The church is at 300 E. Santa Fe, Marion.
