Fall prevention classes in Goessel
The Marion County Department on Aging will offer the Stepping On fall prevention program in Goessel starting Tuesday, Sept 9.
The program is intended for people who are afraid of falling, have fallen in the past year, and are wanting to improve their balance and strength to prevent falls, according to coordinator Gayla Ratzlaff.
The class includes group discussion, an exercise program and information about how to avoid falls.
Stepping On will meet from 2-4 p.m. every Tuesday from Sept. 9 to Oct. 21 in the Bethesda Home meeting room.
The cost is $5 and includes class materials, snacks, exercise manual and an exercise weight.
The registration deadline for Stepping On is Sept 8. Call 620-382-3580 to register.
Bible study begins Sept. 4 in Hillsboro
The women’s community Bible study begins at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 4 in the Hearth Room at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, with Priscilla Shirer’s study of the Book of Jonah.

Tampa’s market season ends Sept. 3
The Tampa Farmers Market begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Tampa Senior Center, 113 W. Third St.
This will be the last market of the season with the Tampa Future Business Leaders of America serving the meal. Everyone is welcome.

Chamber luncheon Sept. 9 at Tabor
The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon will be at noon Sept. 9 at Wohlgemuth Music Education Center Lobby on the Tabor College campus.
Reservations are needed by noon Sept. 5. The luncheon is open to all Chamber members and guests.

Goessel fall sports night this Friday
Goessel High School will host its 21st annual Fall Sports Preview Night Friday, Aug. 29. The evening will include a hamburger fry, football and volleyball scrimmages, and introductions of all fall sports teams.
A grilled hamburger supper will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Patrons are asked to use the east entrance.
The junior high volleyball scrimmage will be at 5 p.m. with high school volleyball set for 6:30 p.m.
The junior high football players will scrimmage at 7 p.m. and the high school football team scrimmage will follow at 7:40 p.m.
‘Donations for the meal will help to support the fall sports programs. The public is invited to attend.
HHS/HMS ‘PIN’ event is Aug. 28
Hillsboro High School/ Middle School is planning its annual Parent Information Night for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
The HHS site council and HMS administration will be hosting their respective meetings.
All parents will report to the auditorium to pick up their student’s class schedules and other instructions concerning the evening’s format before reporting to their student’s first-hour classroom.
