The family of Richard ?Dick? Schwartz invites his friends to send cards of well-wishes on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Schwartz, born in Leavenworth in 1935, graduated from Leaven?worth High School and Ottawa Univer?sity. He received a master?s degree from the University of California.

Schwartz retired as a colonel in the Marine Corps after 30 years of service, including as an infantry company commander in Vietnam, where his company made the first amphibious landing of the war.

After retirement, Schwartz and his family moved to Florida, where he worked for the Dow Chemical Agent Orange payment program for veterans.

In 1998, he and wife Margie moved to the Marion County Lake. Cards may be sent to him at 4 Hill Road, Marion County Lake, Marion, KS 66861.
