Hillsboro resident to celebrate 80th
A come-and-go birthday celebration is planned for Lynn Penner of Hillsboro from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Hillsboro Senior Center, 212 N. Main St.
The party is being hosted by children Linda and Morris Ewert of Goessel, Gary and Terri Penner of Hillsboro, Diane and Kent Jost of Hesston and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Card shower to mark Meysing?s 80th year
The family of Alice Meysing, Lincolnville, is requesting a card shower in recognition of her 80th birthday.
Alice Schippers grew up on the family farm near Colwich. She was married to Paul Meysing in 1950.
The couple had five sons: William of Portland, Ore.; Joseph J. (deceased); Donald of Lincolnville; Gregory of Goessel; and Larry of Piedmont, Okla. They have three granddaughters and five grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Alice Meysing has resided west of Pilsen her entire married life and is a full-time homemaker and farmer?s wife. She is a member of St. John?s Nepomucene /Holy Family Catholic Church in Pilsen.
Through the years she has been active in St. Ann?s Alter Society, the church choir and the Harvest House. She also was a member of the former Jolly Workers EHU for many years.
