Andy and Bonnie Friesen, formerly of Hillsboro and now of Wichita, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by taking their children and grandchildren on a Hawaiian cruise during spring break. Their children hosted a private reception and luncheon for family and friends Feb. 25 at First Mennonite Church.
Andy Friesen and Bonnie Harder were married March 1, 1957, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. They have two daughters, Christy Jewell of Kansas City and Shelley and Wendell Funk of Wichita; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Funk.
Andy is retired from 13 years as co-owner of Friesen’s Jewelers and 27 years as owner and manager of Friesen’s Furniture Center. Bonnie is retired from 30 years as a USD 410 teacher.
