Three couples, Francis and Rita Steiner of rural Durham, George and Kathleen Oborny of rural Marion and Jerry and Vernie Base of Smolan, are celebrating a total of 150 years of marriage with an open/house reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 17.

Prior to the open house, the family will have a family dinner at 12:30 p.m., but everyone is invited to the reception at Holy Family Catholic Church basement, 415 N Cedar, Marion, family members said.

The Steiners were married April 15, 1961, and will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

The Obornys were married April 14, 1956, and are being honored for 55 years of marriage.

The Bases? anniversary date is Feb. 19, 1966, for 45 years.

What makes these anniversaries special for family members is the three wives are siblings and together, the three couples are celebrating 150 years of marriage.

The Steiners children include John, Ronald and Ken; Oborny children are Dennis, Julie, Donald, who is deceased, Jeannie, David and Jennifer; and the Base children include Camille and Jarod.
