Hamms to celebrate 60th anniversary

Gaylord and Valera Hamm will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 1. They were married Oct. 1, 1948, in Florence.
Their children Larry and Bonnie Winter of Silver Lake, Ron and Barbara Williams of Glempool, Okla., Jim and Myrna Hamm of Tampa, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will host a family dinner for them on Oct. 11.

Dirkses celebrate 60th anniversary
Melvin and Vera Dirks of Hillsboro celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday with a family supper.
The couple was married Sept. 12, 1948, at the old Logan Menno?nite Church north of Durham.
For 22 years, Melvin was employed as a maintenance electrician at Hesston Corp.
Vera was a certified nursing assistant at nursing homes. The couple raised their family in Lehigh.
Children are Bruce of Tampa; Sharlene Becker of Gona, Africa; Bradley of Canton; and Donnalee Johnson of Texoma, Texas. The couple has 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
