Manns celebrating 50th anniversary

Richard and Dolores Mann of Cedar Point will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 13, with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cottonwood Falls Community Building in Swope Park of Cottonwood Falls.

The reception will be hosted by their children and their families: Sonia and John Koslosky of Freedom, Pa.; Tony Mann and family of Cottonwood Falls; and Tammy and Jeff Jirak and family of Marion. Their grandchildren are Jared and Katie Mann; Jordan Mann; and Anne, Megan, and Joel Jirak.

Dolores Noreen Maxwell and Richard Lee Mann were married May 19, 1957, at the United Methodist Church in Admire. Richard graduated from Cedar Point High School, served in the U.S. Army immediately after high school and spent his life career feeding America through farming and ranching until his retirement in 2005.

Dolores graduated from Admire High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College where she received a teaching certificate. She taught first and second grades at Cedar Point Grade School where she met Richard, who was a senior attending school in the same building. Later she worked almost 25 years for Western Associates until retirement.

Card shower for Petersons? 60th

Earl and Lois Peterson of Burdick will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a card shower.

Earl L. Peterson and Lois E. Schroer were married May 4, 1947, at Hebron Lutheran Church in Burdick.

The couple have three children: Jim and Marilyn of Burdick, Dianne and Keith Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., and Phil and Jamie of Burdick. They have seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family plans a celebration on Memorial Day weekend.
