
Loewens nearing 50th anniversary
Albert and Martha Loewen of North Newton will celebrate their 50th
anniversary with a program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Koerner
Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton, followed by a
reception from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. Albert Loewen and Martha Jane
Thiessen were married June 28, 1957, at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church
in Inman. Albert was employed by the former Crossroads Coop in Goessel
and North Newton, and Martha taught school in Cimarron, Hillsboro and
Goessel. Both are retired. The event is hosted by their three children,
Lois and Siegfried Snyder of Wichita, James and Naomi Loewen of Wichita
and Duane and Kathy Loewen of Newton; and 13 grandchildren.

Klendas celebrating 25th anniversary
Stephen and Tamara (Swarts) Klenda of Lincolnville will celebrate their
25th wedding anniversary with a reception at 6:30 p.m. July 7 at Pilsen
Community Center. They were married July 10, 1982, in Pilsen. They have
one daughter, Stephanie and Chris Byer of Plainville with granddaughter
Lyndsie; and two sons, Russell Klenda and Kim Hamm of Tampa with
step-granddaughter Corina Zapata and grandson Preston Klenda, and
Brandon of Lincolnville. They request no gifts.
