Norman and Patsy SchmidtSchmidts mark 50th anniversary

Norman and Patsy (Serviss) Schmidt, Goessel residents for 39 years, are having an open house celebration to honor their 50th wedding anniversary.

The open house begins at 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Goessel Mennonite Church, 109 S. Church, which is the same church the Schmidts were married in on Oct. 7, 1966.

Everyone is invited to the event to congratulate the couple and share in their joy.

Norman Schmidt was employed at the Hesston Corp., for 27 years and then for 16 years with Goessel Schools.

Patsy Schmidt was em­ployed at Farmers Alli­ance and Home State Bank at McPherson. She then worked for Wheatland Bank of Goessel for 12 years and 23 years at Goessel Schools.

The couple’s children are hosting the party to include Linnae and Tim VanSickle of Topeka and Anngie Schmidt of Goessel. The honored couple have three grandchildren.

The children are requesting no gifts or card shower.
