Dalkes to celebrate 50 years of marriage

Dan and Donna (Delk) Dalke of Hillsboro will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with two events involving for family and friends.

The first event is a card shower marking the day of their wedding, June 10, 1967, at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, rural Hillsboro. Cards should be sent to their home at 602 E. First St., Hillsboro 67063.

The couple will celebrate with their children and grandchildren later this summer.

Donna worked 34 years as a secretary for USD 410 while also raising their four children. Dan spent most of his career as a self-employed electrician and farmer. He later spent 14 years working for the Marion County Road & Bridge Department.

After 45 years of country living, the couple have moved to town and are enjoying their retirement.

The Dalke immediate family includes son Darrell and wife Joy, with kids Alex and Faith; son Dale and wife Jana, with kids Jessi, Eli and Emery; daughter Dana and husband Jonathan Maxfield, with kids Allison and Katherine; and son Dustin and wife Emily with children Bryant and Owen. All are from Hillsboro.

Funks to celebrate

60th anniversary

Kenneth and Bonnie Funk of rural Hillsboro will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 11 with a family dinner.

Funk, and the former Bonnie Schafer, were married June 16 at Hillsboro First Mennonite Church by pastor Albert Koontz.

He is a farmer and she is a homemaker and community volunteer.

Their children are Kent and Vell Funk of Hillsboro and Cindy Friesen of St. John.
