Hillsboro couple celebrate 60 years

Perry and Irene (Ducommun) Ratzloff of Hillsboro will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Historic Elgin Hotel in Marion.
They were married June 13, 1950 at El Dorado. Perry is employed with the city of Marion at the tree landfill site and Irene is retired from St. Luke Hospital in Marion after 42 years of service. She is a part-time employee at the Salem Home in Hillsboro.
The celebration is being hosted by the couple?s eight children: Lloyd Ratzloff of Lehigh; Colleen Loyles of Halstead; Marlys Plett of Hillsboro; Curtis Ratzloff of Marion; D?Elda Juhnke of Moundridge; Victor Ratzloff of Marion; Stuart Ratzloff of Halstead and Trudy Slifer of Marion. They also have 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchild?ren.

Couple celebrate 50th by taking cruise
Linferd and Delores Funk of rural Hillsboro celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family Caribbean cruise in December and family meal May 30.
They were married May 27, 1960 in the Tabor Mennonite Church, Newton, and live and farm near Hillsboro. They are members of Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.
Their children are Donna and Jerold Heide of Wichita and Carol and J.R. Howell of Clearwater. They also have five grandchild?ren.

Open house planned for couple?s 50th

Friends and relatives of John and Joyce Padgett are invited to join in celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at Doyle Creek Mercantile & Corral, 508 Main St., Florence.
John Padgett and Joyce Berends were married June 5, 1960, at Cedar Valley Baptist Church in rural Clements, Chase County.
They have farmed and ranched near Florence for 50 years and Joyce is a retired mail carrier.
Hosting the event will be their children: Pat and Craig Wilson of Mulvane; Jim Padgett of Florence; Mike and Shelly Padgett of Hillsboro; and five grandchild?ren.
