Canton couple to celebrate 45 years

James and Judy (Vickrey) White of Canton will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary Aug. 9.

They were married Aug. 9, 1964, in the Christian Church at Canton.

Their children are son Justin and Adrianna of Canton, daughter Jennifer and Ty Theurer of Harper, and they have four grandchildrend.

Hillsboro couple to celebrate 40 years

Gaylord and Peggy Goertzen of Hillsboro will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, with a come-and-go reception at the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, 1498 Kanza Road, Hillsboro.

They were married Aug. 9, 1969, at the Bakersfield Mennonite Brethren Church, now known as Heritage Bible Church, in Bakersfield, Calif., with Louis Paul Lehman officiating.

Gaylord is pastor of the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, and Peggy is the director of the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies at Tabor College. Their children are Erica and Shane Clark of Olpie, Phil and Tonya Goertzen of Reedley, Calif., Will and Abi Goertzen of Lawrence and Amy and Jeremy Jordan of Hillsboro. The couple also has 11 grandchildren.

Marion couple celebrates 50 years

Richard and Margie (Bernhardt) Schwartz of Marion celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June with family at a beach house in Nag?s Head, N.C.

Those attending included son Thane and Judy of Marion, daughter Peri and Ray and three grandchildren.

They were married Aug. 9, 1959, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Marion.

Richard retired in 1989 as a colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps, having served more than 30 years. Living on 10 different military installations, family members said Hawaii, South Korea and Florida were among their favorites.

Anniversary party planned in Florence

The children of Dale and Sheila Buller of Florence are hosting a 25th anniversary party in honor of their parents from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Peabody United Methodist Church, 403 N. Sycamore, Peabody.

Their children, Eric, Grant and Brent, are encouraging friends of the couple to come and celebrate with family. The couple requests no gifts.
