Richard and Margaret Klenda will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Pilsen Community Center with a dance to follow.

Richard Klenda and Margaret Bina were married Sept. 5, 1959, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen with Monsignor Arthur Tonne officiating.

The reception will be hosted by their children, Ed of Lincolnville, Mary of Raymore, Mo., Ralph of Lincolnville, Pattie and husband Allen Klassen of Topeka, and Debbie of Edgerton. The couple request no gifts, please.

James and Kathy (Krotz) Carr celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a card shower from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug 23, at the Scout House in Hillsboro.

They were married Aug. 26, 1969, in Marion and have lived they entire lives in Hillsboro. James is a carpenter and Kathy is a cook at the high school.

The event was hosted by their children, daughter Chris and Stephen Hammer of Augusta, daughter Tammy and Todd Shanks of Minneapolis and son Tim and Tera Carr of Hillsboro.

The couple has seven grandchildren.
