Family celebrates parent?s 60th event

Don and Marilyn Mosiman of rural Valley Center are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 2.

They were married Sept. 2, 1955 at First Baptist Church in Valley Center. In addition to a lifetime of devotion to each other, their children and grandchildren, Don is a lifetime farmer and stockman, and Marilyn worked 20 years at the Bank of Whitewater. She retired in 1996.

Their children include Rhonda Mosiman, Diane and husband Allen Hosler and Carolyn and husband Bronson Webb, all of El Dorado; Bret and wife Julie Mosiman of rural Benton; Tracy and husband Dennis Boldt of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A small family celebration is planned.

Hillsboro couple to celebrate 60 years

John and Caryl (Friesen) Wiebe are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6.

The couple were married Sept. 6, 1955, at the Gnadenau Mennonite Brethren Church, two miles south of Hillsboro.

They enjoyed a celebration July 11 at a steak house with their daughter and her family from California together with their son and daughter and their families from Hillsboro.

In addition, the couple are also planning to host a barbecue Sept. 6 with their Sunday school class.

They met when John moved to Hillsboro from California to attend Tabor College.
