The Neosho Basin Advisory Committee of the Kansas Water Office will host a meeting to discuss current water issues affecting the basin as well as the state at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Community Ballroom, 203 N. 3rd, Marion.
The main focus of the meeting will be the water priorities for the Neosho Basin to be included in the Kansas Water Plan. All citizens with an interest in water are encouraged to participate in the discussion.
Every five years the Kansas Water Plan is updated to reflect the state?s current water issues. This process involves input from each of the 12 basins in Kan?sas. To find more information about the 2014 Kansas Water Plan, visit kwo.org.
In addition to the Kansas Water Plan, the ?Vision for the Future of Water in Kansas? will be presented and discussed, as well as the updated total maximum daily loads for the Neosho Basin.
