With threatening clouds gathering in the northwest, Larry Cushinberry sounds the ?Call to Colors? on his marching baritone at the start of the annual Hillsboro American Legion Memorial Day Services Monday morning at Memorial Park. The woman to the far right in the photo is featured speaker Vicki Schmidt, a Kansas state senator with ties to the Hillsboro community. Following the service, Legion members hosted their annual noon steak dinner at the Legion Hall.
