Surveying to begin for roundabout

Surveyors for the Kansas Department of Transportation will be conducting survey work starting today along U.S. High?way 77 at the intersection of U.S. 77, U.S. 56 and Kansas 150 highways in Marion County.

The purpose is to gather information needed for the detailed design of a proposed roundabout east of the city of Marion. The survey is scheduled for completion on or about Oct. 5, weather permitting.

KDOT officials said a member of the survey crew will first contact property owners or tenants for permission prior to entering private property.

Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor.
