Republicans to elect new commissioner

The Marion County Republican Central Committee chairman Todd Heitschmidt has called a convention of the precinct committeemen and women from Marion County Commissioner District 1 to elect the replacement of Lori Lalouette whose resignation March 20.

The convention will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Scout House in Hills­boro. Individuals interested in the position are re­quest­ed, but not required, to provide a resume or short bio­­graphy that will be provided to the conventioneers by emailing Heitschmidt at: theitschmidt@yahoo.com or 620-382-2283.

A person must be nominated and seconded by a qualified delegate of District 1. A candidate for the position must be a registered Republican residing in District 1.
