The Peabody Red Hat Society rolls through the Fourth of July parade in Peabody on Saturday morning, and won the third-palce prize. More than $300 was distributed between the first top five placers in the parade, said Tammy Whiteside, one of the parade coordinators. Leo and Judy Kurtz won $80 and first place for their motorized train; John Bloomer came in second, winning $60 for his horseless carriage; Peabody?s Red Hat Ladies took home $50 for third; Shane Marler and Peabody?s Main Street entry took fourth and $25, and fifth place went to 13 children either riding bicycles or driving four-wheelers. Each was awarded $10.
