One-vehicle crash results in fatality

A driver was killed and a passenger injured in a one-vehicle crash just north of Lincolnville May 27.

The Marion County sheriff’s office responded at 12:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of U.S. Highway 56 and U.S. Highway 77, according to Sheriff Robert Craft.

A 2011 Dodge pickup with the two occupants had left the roadway to the east side of the road and struck a concrete culvert, he said. The pickup overturned after impact.

The driver, Rebeca Rocca, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Martin Rocca, 55, was transported to Wichita for medical treatment, Craft said. Both people were from Decatur, Neb.

The accident remains under investigation, Craft said.
