Musicians set for Florence Labor Day celebration

The 2010 Florence Labor Day celebration will feature artists and entertainers from central Kansas.

The street dance Sept. 4 will feature the group Reintarnation. The group plays country, classic rock, folk, Americana and bluegrass. The dance starts at 8 p.m.

Musical entertainment Sept. 5 starts at 3 p.m. with The Green?horns?a local group that plays a mix of old country, bluegrass classics and songs from the past.

Band members are Kim Schmidt (fiddle), Rollin Schmidt (dobro/guitar), Dan Carlson (banjo), Jerry Jones (upright bass) and Gregg Eichorn (guitar/vocalist).

Jammin? Biscuits will perform at 6 p.m. The group plays gospel and traditional bluegrass. Band members are Gerry and Tracey Roberts of Moundridge, Tom Unruh of Sedgwick, Nick Johnson, Gary Roberts and Lawrence Ressler.

The Sharon Rush Band will play at 8 p.m. following an ice cream social at 7 p.m. The band features the lead vocals of Sharon Rush. The band plays a mix of contemporary and traditional blues.

Artists they cover, when not playing their own original music, are BB King, Susan Tedeschi, Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin.

Band members are Sharon Rush (vocals/percussion), Wayne Avery (guitar/vocals), Donn Lentz (bass/vocals), Jamie Matchett (drums/percussion), and Dustin Lentz (keys).

A $5 button is required for admission.
