Mother Nature spoke loudly Monday evening as a severe thunderstorm rolled across Marion County. The eastern portion of the county was under a tornado warning for a time (photo at right). Florence received significant hail (lower right photo). Hillsboro received strong winds with rain that brought down some tree limbs (lower left photo).

At press time, there were reports that Goessel was without electricity, as were parts of neighboring Harvey County. Other parts of Marion County, including Hillsboro, experienced brief outages.
