Marion Reservoir park rangers recognized for water rescue effort

LifeSavingAwards2Marion Reservoir Corps of Engineers park rangers Scott Dodson (dark shirt) and Wes Hensen were presented with a Life Saving Award May 18 by representatives from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Mark Rankin, assistant director of law enforcement for the KDWP (far right), presented the awards assisted by Hal Kaina (far left), game warden for McPherson County, and Cody Morris, game warden for Marion County. The actions and work of the park rangers and game wardens on May 25, 2015, resulted in safely retrieving a disabled vessel occupied by a family in tornadic conditions at Marion Reservoir.
