Marion Elementary School rates building-wide ‘Standard of Excellence’

Marion Elementary School was notified by the Kansas State Department of Education that it achieved a building-wide Standard of Excellence School in reading, math and science for 2008.

MES also received the Standard of Excellence for reading in grades three, four, five and six, for math in grades three, five and six, and for science in grade four.

MES achieved Annual Yearly Progress (AYP). The 2008 target in reading was 75.6 percent of students meeting the standard or above; MES had 95 percent of students achieve the standard or above.

The AYP target in math was 73.4 percent; MES had 90 percent of students achieve the standard or above.

Finally, 88 students from Marion Elementary were also recognized for their exemplary individual achievements on the 2008 Kansas Assessments. Exemplary is the highest level a student can score on the state assessments.

The following students achieved exemplary status in reading: Kennedy Allen, Falon Crawford, Ezra Darnall, Arlie Hernandez, William Holt, Jarrett Johnson, Abby Newell, Mason Pedersen, Sydnee Baldwin, Dylan Pippin, Jacob Smith, Sarah Tajchman, Braden Fahey, Julia Hall, Beretta Janzen, Trevor Kruse, Landon Pedersen, Jermyn Bryant, Seth Crawford, Jared Hague, Justin Silhan and Ben Wilson.

Students achieving exemplary status in math were: Garrett Alleven, Tyler Arocha, Daniel Hinton, Marissa Jacobson, Preston Whisenhunt, Kirsten Hansen, Kristen Herzet, Erika Hess, Cody Parmley, Andrew Hampton, Adam Janzen, Josiah Meador, Alexa Smith, Grif Case, James Jones, Kaleb Montgomery, Rachel Neil and Luke Steele.

Achieveing exemplary status in science were Zach Fruechting and Courtney Williams.

Achieving exemplary status in reading and math were: Nathan Baldwin, Jimi Dornbush, Taylor Fahey, Cade Harms, Jeremy Hett, Josh Knolla, Paige May, Taylor May, Corban Montgomery, Shonda Ratzloff, Devin Regnier, Seth Savage, Byrce Shults, Tori Smith, Alexa Boyd, Elizabeth Meyer, Bailey Robson, Jacob Baldwin, Samantha Davies, Zach Dvorak, Quinton Hett, Seth Snelling, Bret Voth, Kaylie Waner, Devan Carr, Katey Ehrlich, Kaitlyn Frese, Kelli Hess, Cheyenne Jeffrey, Jordan Laurin, Alicia Maloney, Caitlyn Maloney, Lauren McLinden, Nick Meyer, Zach Robson, Abigail Smith and Kaelyn Thierolf

Achieving exemplary status in math and science were Reann Hamm, Brittany Hett and Austin Molleker.

Achieving exemplary status in reading, math and science were: Jade Corona, Remington Putter, McKenzee Remmers, Jacob Spachek and Brittany Wedd.

Christian Czarnowsky achieve exemplary status in reading, math and history/government.
