Marion County Fire District 5, Lincolnville, was one of two Kansas fire departments to be approved for a grant last week through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The department will receive $60,015 for operations and safety.
FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants will provide more than $490 million to fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations throughout the country.
The other Kansas department to receive funding last week was in Ashland. It will receive $227,620 to acquire a vehicle.
