Fog contributes to two-car injury accident on Sunday

A 32-year-old Marion woman was injured Sunday morning when a van missed a stop sign in the fog and struck the SUV she was driving.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Angela S. Lange was driving a 2009 GMC Envoy on 190th Avenue, five miles west of Marion.

The driver of a 2006 Ford Freestar, Johnny R. Ford, 30, of Raytown, Mo., was headed south on Nighthawk Road and failed to see a stop sign because of the fog. The van and SUV collided.

Other passengers in the van were Kristine Ford, 27, Jaycee Ford, 2, Taylor Ford, 4, and Taryn Ford, 1. The driver and all passengers were wearing seatbelts or other safety restraints.

Lange, who was also wearing a seatbelt, was taken to St. Luke Hospital in Marion by her family. No one in the Ford van was injured.
