Florence Library news and notes

Thank you to everyone who attended our library fundraiser in July. We truly appreciate the support of the community for our library.

We are happy to announce we will host another community fundraiser at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at the library. Proceeds will be divided between the library and another community nonprofit organization in Florence. On the menu will be chili-dogs for a freewill offering.

The library plans to have these fundraisers every month, so watch our news and notes library article in the Crossroads for the dates. These fundraisers will benefit the library and other community organizations in Florence. Working together for our community!

The library will be having a bag sale for paperbacks during the Labor Day Celebration weekend on Saturday morning, so come in a check out this great sale.

We need your help. Does anyone have any old Labor Day T-shirts in good condition that they would like to donate to the library for a fundraising project? If you do, please bring them to the library, we would appreciate it.

There were 579 WiFi users for the month of June.

We have several new books on the shelf from our Extended Service Grant with North Central Kanas Library Association.

The Manhattan Book Van was here on July 17 with lots of good reading. It will be back on Sept. 25.

Book Club met at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1. They are reading “The Immortalists” by Chloe Benjamin. Come join the group; everyone is welcome.

Visitors at the library this month were from Emporia, Newton, Tennessee and Texas.
