CROP Walk raises money for the world?s hungry people

Almost 50 people from Hillsboro, Marion and Peabody took part in Sunday?s Crop Hunger Walk at Marion County Lake, said Janet Bryant with Church Women United in Marion County and one of the event coordinators. Each year, area churches collect donations with 75 percent of money collected helping support the work of Church World Service in ending hunger. The other 25 percent comes back to the Marion County Food Bank, Bryant said. Although hundreds of dollars were collected, the exact amount was unavailable at press time.
