Crash at U.S. 77 and K-150 kills Missouri man

A 23-year-old man from Warrensburg, Mo., died Wednes?day when the car he was riding in failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with another car at the junction of U.S. Highway 77 and Kansas Highway 150.

Passenger Sai Kartik Ramanadham was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Kansas High?way Patrol.

The driver of the car, Naveen Raj Arcot-Bhasker, 24, also of Warrensburg, was injured and taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

According to KHP, the collision occurred at about 8:30 p.m. when Arcot-Bhasker, driving a 2011 Nissan Sentra, failed to stop and struck a 2008 Toyota RAV?4 driven by Taylor Kaitlin Sharp, 20, of Derby, as she was traveling southbound on U.S. 77.

Sharp was injured in the crash and taken to Wesley Medical Center.

The two men in the Nissan were wearing seat belts, but Sharp was not, the trooper stated.

The incident occurred three miles east of Marion.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Auto House in Marion.

At press time, no information was available regarding the current condition of the injured, damage estimates or citations.
