County Dept. on Aging offering filing assistance

The Marion County Department on Aging is offering to help individuals file their LIEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program) applications, plus Homestead refund for homeowners starting Jan 21.

Persons interested in receiving assistance can set up an appointment by calling 620-382-3580. There is no cost for filing homestead and LIEAP applications.

Volunteer Barb Smith will be helping individuals with state and federal income tax returns starting Feb 3.

Call 620-382-3580 to set up an appointment. Individuals may give a donation to Marion Senior Center for the filing of state and federal returns.

Gayla Ratzlaff, coordinator for the county?s Depart?ment on Aging, will be at the Hills?boro Senior Center from 8 a.m. until the last appointment Friday, Jan. 24, to help with Homestead and LIEAP.

Call the Hillsboro Senior Center to set up an appointment for that day at 620-947-2304.

Ratzlaff also will be in Peabody from 9 a.m. until the last appointment Thursday, Jan. 30.

Appointments for that day can be made by calling the Peabody Senior Center at 620-983-2226.
